Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 June 2026

Quell helps you quit vaping and nicotine pouches. It is built privacy-first: there is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud. Almost everything you do in Quell stays on your device and is never sent to us. This policy explains what that means in practice.

The short version: We don't run servers and we don't collect your personal data. Your progress, journal, voice notes and Ride recordings live only on your iPhone. We use only anonymous, aggregated usage analytics to improve the app — we don't track you, don't use advertising, and don't sell anything to anyone.

1. Data stored only on your device

The following is created and stored locally on your device using Apple's standard frameworks. We have no way to access, receive, or transmit it:

2. Camera & microphone

Use of the camera and microphone is optional and off by default:

This media is processed and saved on your device only. Nothing is uploaded. A clip leaves your device only if you choose to share it through the iOS share sheet — at which point it goes to the app or service you pick, governed by that service's own privacy policy.

3. Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate and manage your subscription status. To do this, RevenueCat receives purchase/transaction information and a randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier — not your name or email. We never receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy and RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.

4. Notifications

If you allow notifications, Quell schedules gentle reminders and encouragement. These are generated and scheduled locally on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server.

5. Anonymous analytics — no tracking, no advertising

Quell contains no advertising and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across apps or websites.

To understand how the app is used and improve it, we use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service based in the EU. It records anonymous, aggregated usage events — for example, which screens and features are opened, and where people drop off during onboarding. It never records your personal content (no journal text, no voice notes, no name or email) and uses no advertising identifier. This data is not linked to your identity and is never used to track you. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy for details.

On-device coach. Quell's in-app coach runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device model (with a built-in offline fallback). What you type to the coach is processed locally and is never sent to us or shared with any third-party AI service — it stays on your iPhone.

6. Website & early-access list

If you join the early-access list on this website, we store the email address you give us so we can tell you when Quell launches and send your founding offer. We don't share it, sell it, or use it for anything else, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe. Ask us to delete it any time at [email protected].

7. Children

Quell is not directed to children. It is intended for users aged 12 and older who want to stop using nicotine, and it does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app removes it. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are governed by their policies; you can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID settings. As we hold no personal data on any server, there is no account to delete.

9. Health information

Quell is a wellness and motivation tool, not a medical service, and does not provide medical advice. It does not use Apple HealthKit. For medical guidance, talk to a healthcare professional or a free quitline (in the US: 1-800-QUIT-NOW).

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
